Introduction...

Been thinking about starting this guy up for a while. Might as well, before my friends get tired of hearing "UGH. One of these days I'm going to start a Muni blog!" Finally got pushed into action. Amazing what waiting for an 2 train N-Judah at Embarcadero for about 40 minutes during the evening rush drives one to.

It drove one bystander to start asking loudly "Does anybody enjoy waiting for the train? Raise your hands if you do! Nobody?" No response. A few more vocal jibes, finally fellow tortured soul concurred with him that the situation was the pits. The unmistakable surround sound jumble of a MUNI attendant somewhere seemed to be explaining exactly why we were watching Js, Ks, Ls, and Ms go by...but no N. I'm not quite sure what she said. I am quite sure, that nobody else was quite sure what she said. Normally at this point I release an experienced chuckle as everybody looks to their neighbor asking for clarification. I did take a second to think about how hard somebody would have to push to get on the first N that came through Van Ness after 40 minutes, and moved closer to where a door would hopefully appear.

I hope this blog covers the experiences of many of us on many train and bus lines. I plan on pointing out the occasional cool thing when I see it - the driver who wouldn't let the violent drunk on the bus, the train that actually waited for the old woman who was going as fast as she could to climb on board.

I do expect alot of griping here, from me and submissions for readers, but that is one of my main reasons for creating this blog. To inform. How many morning in the last week have you arrived at work to have a coworker ask "do you have any idea why we were held up for so long at the tunnel today?" At the least, realizing that it's not just you. At the most, hey maybe we'll get an official or unofficial voice from muni to point out the things we don't know, and make dealing with it easier.

Tomorrow the boss has me scheduled for lunch with him to explain a 15 page document which I have yet to put into digital form. I've already lost an hour to MUNI, so I better get cracking.
